‘Eastern Culture and Performance’ - Summer 2007

Jiang Li will be working with children from the Aby Church of England Primary School, Lincolnshire. 

The workshops will focus on Chinese Music, Lantern making, paper cutting and calligraphy.  Following a talk about music in general, the workshop will introduce Chinese music and a selection of Chinese instruments.  The children will be given the opportunity of hands-on-experience of these instruments and a chance to make up their own music on Chinese percussions.  The topic will cover how the different music moods express different emotions and children will learn Chinese culture through music enhanced by the Lantern making, paper cutting and calligraphy.
